Yeah that seems to be the case, but it’s pretty stupid. Surely they can send someone else down until Ward returns.

He's not a better option, but I'm guessing they don't have any other active players with options left that they want to send down. 

Diaz is going down too so I assume they're bringing up another pitcher. The bullpen got a bit taxed last night so it might be 2 pitchers, then one goes back down once Ward is activated.

Although sending down Adell, only to put Wade in RF because Trout isn't ready yet would be the most Angels thing.

Good point about the bullpen. I but I can’t think of any pitcher they can call up from SLC at the moment. Mayers?

I suppose Ward is technically off the IL at this point (he was placed retroactively on June 3rd). Hopefully he’ll play tonight.

Ward isn't eligible until Monday, which would be 10 days from the 3rd, but they don't have a game Monday so he'll be back for Tuesday against the Dodgers.
