Hate it. Some top golfers are paired together, but other teams have a decent golfer and some guy I've never heard of who's down around 200th on the money list.

Pairings don't seem fair in that respect.

Jay Haas at 68 became the oldest golfer to make the cut at a PGA Tour event. He is paired with his son Bill Haas.

This is Jay's 799th start on the PGA Tour. He first made the cut at a tournament in 1973.

Nine wins on Tour, and 18 wins on the Champions Tour.

What did they do to that golf course in rounds two and four? The scores skyrocketed compared to rounds one and three.

Rounds one and three were played in the best ball format, AO.  Rounds 2 and 4 were played in the Alternate Shot format, meaning one guy drove the odd holes, one guy drove the even holes, then they alternated shots from there.

A much more challenging format than best ball.

I know it was a team event, but it’s pretty awesome that Jay Haas, at 68 years old, with his son Bill as his teammate, made the cut last week at the Zurich.  He is the oldest player ever to make a cut in a sanctioned PGA event, beating the great Sam Snead who did it last at age 67.

Good for you, Haas family.

X-Man is making a tremendous run, -6 through 10 including a 96-yd hole-out for eagle. Munoz and Spieth bogeyed their first hole.

K.H. Lee wins for the second year in a row. These are his only wins on the tour, too.

With the PGA next week with tight fairways and greens as slick as a windshield, I don’t mind the occasional tournament where they can just fire away like they did this weekend.
