I don't understand DFA'ing Schebler.  Yes he's not great, however he's an outfielder, which is certainly a need with our entire planned starting outfield, Upton, Trout, and Fowler currently out of the lineup.  Why not DFA one of the many crappy relievers we have that Wantz is going to be taking the spot of?

Maddon said Upton might be available to play tomorrow. I'm guessing based on that, he must be close to returning. Otherwise, I'm with you on this.

I'd be in favor of just signing a guy like Anibal Sanchez to keep Canning in the minors.  He could use some seasoning.

Upton will probably come off the DL tomorrow, so the OF problem is solved.  Wantz was pitching well in SLC.  

Canning needs to go to SLC and learn to keep the damn ball down.  In the lower part of the strike zone.  And in the park would be nice.

If he were they would have brought him up instead of Wantz.

His last start in SLC was on Monday 6/28.
