Electric Bill

Anyone else recently get slammed for their electric bill?

I did a major remodel starting in late january (or early february).

My electric bill is usually about 90-100 a month.

The next 3 bills i got were about 200, then 400, and the newest one is 700!

 

I assumed at first it was because of the power tools, but the "heavy stuff" was done by mid february or so. The most used tool used was a tile saw. Nothing crazy.

And the heaviest construction was finished by the second bill... after that was mostly paint.

Has anyone else seen a huge spike?

Unplug everything in the house.  See if the meter is still going crazy.  Maybe they did something funny in the remodel which is causing the power to continue to drain.

Either that or st1ckboy moved into your garage.

I might be stupid. (Well, i know i am). But when i called edison, the automated voice said I actually have a credit for 780....

And looking at my online banking, the 780 has a minus sign next to it

 

But was on hold w edison for an hour before hanging up

Maybe i overpaid the past two bills?.... at least i hope thats it.

No way in hell i owe 1500 for 2 months electricity... thats close to what i pay for a whole year

LTD just popped into my head because we had one when I was a kid and I remember it was built like a "tank."

Two guys showed up at the house a couple weeks ago saying they were from SCE and going door to door to let people know about the credit and answer questions.  Guess they haven't reached your neighborhood.

My grandpa always had cars with bench seating in the front. The LTD was a hand me down from him. Even his final car, a Buick that I don't remember the year or model had bench seating. It had to be one of the last cars with it.
