The difference being that in the pic above, there don't appear to be any other cars in the lot and that the Duelly seems to have parked on the furthest aisle away.

 

I can't tell you how many times I've parked halfway across the parking lot, with 12-14 spaces (or more) between where I park and the closest car, gone in for 10 minutes, and come out to find someone parked RIGHT ****ING NEXT to me.  Not 2 spots away, not nearby, but to the point where I cannot open my car door fully without hitting their vehicle. There's not a single car for 10 spaces in any direction, and they decided they had to park there. It makes me want to key their car for being complete pricks, because there is zero explanation otherwise as to why they did that.

 

Oh, and by the way, I always park within the slot, so it's not like I'm across separate spaces and they were making a point. I swear, one of these days I'm gonna be in an awful mood and the truck (yeah, it's usually a Pickup or SUV) is going to get redecorated with "I'm a prick" with an arrow pointing at the driver in scratches.

He's taking up 3 spots. You can only see the spots on either side of those 3 spots. It's a small parking lot for a Ralphs and is usually pretty packed there.

Not defending what he did, but if parked properly in the space, his back end probably sticks out 3' into the drive lane creating a hazard.
