He looked a little lost on that last one...but I don't think even Trouty would have had a play, right?    It was pretty high up and I think the chain link fence is a little further back than the wall.

Correct. I rewound and watched it a couple more times. It was not catchable... BUT... it's freaking hilarious to see how completely turned around he gets on his routes.

Geez....Canning getting injections.     Probably delaying the inevitable surgery and increasing lost time.

I think most of us are there already, but it's best to assume the team will not get anything from Canning this season. If he can avoid surgery and provide some value later in the season, great.

I guess I'm not in favor of the injections in most cases.....just drawing the whole process out longer.

I thought he did have UCL damage.

EDIT:  I see it is described as "chronic changes" to the UCL.   So, maybe...

I expect it will require surgery. But it does not at this point. He's had two different opinions. As with Ohtani two years ago, we're not going to know if it tears until he actually gets out there and performs.

I, too, would like to hasten the process, but it would be a dickhead move for the Angels to say "Well, Griffin, we know your elbow is hurting right now, but we need to find out if it's going to tear, so get out there and pitch!"

"Chronic Changes" = usual wear and tear

The MRI didn't reveal even a grade 1 sprain...which is probably why they don't know what to with it at this point.

I guess the good news re: Canning is that so many other guys are looking good in ST and I think Calloway is going to bring out the best in a lot of them.    And our offense figures to score a lot of runs.   So, if he comes back strong after the injections, that's just a bonus.  The team should be fine no matter when he gets back.
