OC Register: Mike Trout and Justin Upton help Vegas couple with gender reveal

Vince DeFiesta and his wife Laura, of Las Vegas, were hoping to get some help from the Angels with their gender reveal video. It couldn’t have gone any better. MVP Mike Trout enlisted fellow outfielder Justin Upton to help the couple make their social media dreams come true.

“Do you want a boy or girl?” asked Trout. “We just want a healthy baby!” shouted Laura. Trout lobbed the “ball” to Upton, who smashed it into a could of pink dust to oohs and awws from the crowd gathered to watch spring training workouts before the Halos’ first scheduled game of the spring on Saturday. The couple plans to name their baby girl Ayla, which means “Halo” in Turkish.

Gender reveals in general are dumb and self-serving, but anything that includes Mike Trout is awesome, so I'm a fan of this.

I hope this couple only clothes this child in gender-neutral colors and styles so they don't inflict hetero-normative hegemony on it.

While I think that the idea of a gender reveal is silly, the fact that the greatest player in the game and Justin Upton aren’t above doing It speaks volumes about who Trout and Upton are as people.

i highly doubt Bryce Harper would be a part of such silly hi jinx.
