Yep I don't think players or coaches talk about hitting a certain batter.  The vibe is known that "so and so" opponent did something wrong, and the pitchers know what they should do. 

Also, it was their catcher taken out. I’d imagine pitchers feel particularly protective of them.

I think he has more.  Way more.  He sent a message AND didn’t get ejected.  I didn’t get to see the replay, but I’m sure it was a “message” pitch.  Nothing at the head, but it sent the message.

Good for him, and now it’s over hopefully

hopefully MORE

old school ways for a young pitcher -- good stuff,.

but I wonder if today's players have the appreciation for that style of play like the players from 'back in the day" did.

ALSO - got to mention - was kinda impressed with Houston's Marinsiak (spelled wrong) tonight, He helped defuse the situation/ calm down his team mates.

I liked the way he sort of stepped up by his response in effect saying, 'hey boys, this is how it's done ....I take responsibility for what I did and here's the expected response from the Angels - OK - let's move on and play ball....."
