Yep they back him off the plate and then they force him to reach. The scouting on him is currently pretty simple. Lefty pitchers make him look worse.

Is Ausmus surprised? Canning didn't really have it tonight and it was only a matter of time before he was taken deep. I gotta like the kid's grit in this game, though - always battling. He really needs to start throwing more first pitch strikes, though.
