The Yankees announce they will shop Gray. . .I get Angel fans taking a look since he is clearly available, but I am a little baffled anyone has any true interest.

He is pretty close to exactly what I want to avoid.

You want to avoid a career 3.66 ERA guy with some pedigree, who has pitched well in our division multiple years before, is still young, and should come relatively cheap?? 

I'm not saying do whatever it takes to get the guy, but if the price is right, he could be a real asset.

I am not against having Sonny Gray for the exact reasons you mention.

I am absolutely against pursuing this guy specifically to "fix" the starting pitching problem.

My opinion is Gray is a guy that maybe, could be good.

The Angels have plenty of those.  What they need are some reliable answers far more than they need more questions.

(Obviously every pitcher in earth has risk, but we need to be able to have these discussions "relatively speaking")
