If you want to see just how much the Angels over achieved last year just look at all of the unsigned players from last year's roster.  Those guys aren't unsigned because of collusion!

Of the group I would co sides Norris for the pen or Maybin in for 4th outfielder.

We were a below .500 team last year. How did we over-achieve?

Seeing as how they may not find MLB deals soon, I wouldn't be against offering minor-league deal/ST invites to Norris, Chavez, Revere, or Maybin.

We were leading for the second wild card spot until Trout went into a rare Sept. Slump.

That team had no business being in the wild card race!  None!

That's just because all the other second WC teams weren't good either. They were all .500 teams and they played like it - it just happened to be good enough for the WC race last year.

Being below or above .500 has nothing to do with the idea of over or under achieving.

They scored 710 runs, they gave up 709 runs. Everything indicated they should have played right around a .500 level all year and that's exactly what they did. What the rest of the league did has no bearing on if they over or under-achieved. Just because they were in the thick of the WC race all year doesn't change that.

The only player in that group I would consider an offer to would be Been Revere but if the outfield is healthy he would be bored to death being Albert Pujols designated pinch runner.

+1, although Norris' signing would have been tempting if kept away from the 9th inning.   He was really good except for those 2 weeks after the ASB.
