For many, he was THE voice of college football.

Rest in peace.

He retired in 2006, so that's understandable. He was almost 90.

I had forgotten that Don Meredith died.

These were the three who announced the first Monday Night Football game in 1970.

I grew up watching college football when there was normally only one main game broadcast on Saturday, and Keith Jackson called some of the biggest games.

That Colorado/Michigan 1994 game will always be memorable.   Kordell Stewart's 70 yard heave to end the game, Westbrooks' catch off of the tip, and Keith Jackson's call of it, all classic!    It's sad to think that all 3 members of the first ever MNF announcing crew (September 1970 in Cleveland) have passed away. 

His call of the 1974 Michigan/Ohio State game was classic too.   Of course, tank has good memories of that game and the missed Michigan FG with seconds to play.
