Seattle/Portland will miss the boat if the NHL goes through with this.

The Nucks need a USA rival.    Seattle/Portland would be perfect.   Texas cannot handle two NHL teams.   Aren't the Stars struggling some?

Approved, built, and have owners is three vastly different things.  Heck, how many times has the A's stadium plans been approved.  And yet decades later they are still in the same piss joint.

just contract one of the other teams nobody goes to see like carolina or florida

also, wisconsin should have a team before seattle.  hockey is huge out here.  the AHL team sells out the arena

To be fair.  The Roadrunners used to sell out in Phoenix.

It's one thing to pay $40 for ice level seats, it's another when that same $40 can only get you the last rows.

That is true but Arizona is not a hockey area.  WI is, people play on frozen lakes during the winter, UW is a powerhouse college hockey team, the high schools here are too.

Yeah agreed, WI is a big hockey state with great college hockey programs in the state.

For a Seattle team they can just relocate the Florida Panthers to Seattle, the Tampa Bay Lightning will always be thee team of Florida & have the only Florida stanley cup.

Totally agree. With the right tweaking to they can make it work though if they allow teams to protect 10 skaters of any kind & 1 goalie or 8 fowards, 3 D-men & 1 goalie but that the new team gets to take part in the regular NHL draft two years before they become a team so that they have a head start on prospects as well as having an AHL team already in place for their prospects to play in if their able to.

In this scenario the Ducks would likely have traded Vatanen & protect 10 skaters of any kind: Getzlaf/Perry/Rakell/Kesler/Silf/Kase/Lindholm/Fowler/Montour/Manson + Gibson. They'd lose only Ritchie but they could always make a trade & send expansion team a draft pick + prospect to not to select Ritchie cause if Ritchie rebounds next season they'll want to keep him.

Dallas is middle of the pack in attendance, 14/31 at 17,937 per game (current season average). Carolina is last at 11,356, Chicago is first at 21,529.

NHL attendance 2017-18
