Jose Mota-isms: 2013s

I thought this would be old by now but it isn't.  Bring on more Mota-isms in 2013!

I also felt this way, until I read this gem:

"It's been a different one, so into your planning, tell me what went (pause) when you saw the big roster and you saw all the pitchers coming in, some guys who needed to leave into comparing to other spring trainings."

God bless Jose for trying, but Its a good thing Langston is taking over this year. Jose and Terry don't seem to have much chemistry together... those constant akward silences coupled with the fake laughs from Terry when he can't make sense of something Mota said are just brutal.

Just flipped on today's game (DVR action).  I'm all of one minute in, watching the pre-game whereupon we find Terry Smith and Jose interviewing bench coach Rob Picciolo.  The topic is Spring Training...Fire away, Jose!

"It's been a different one, so into your planning, tell me what went (pause) when you saw the big roster and you saw all the pitchers coming in, some guys who needed to leave into comparing to other spring trainings."

God bless Picciolo for giving an answer to whatever the hell that was.

It could not possibly be as bad, not that I didn't believe the above quote, but there are times when when I see something here as it was said in the first place making sense when he said it. (see what I did there?)

This time it was worse.

If Fox Sports ever fires Jose, I will quit watching Anyels baseball.  He is our lil' latino Harry Carey.

That's a pretty good analogy - especially late in Harry's career when he would hit the taverns around Wrigley Field before the game, and by the time the game started he was so far in the bag that he was lucky if he knew who was playing. He would do dumb stuff like pronounce guys' names spelled backward and make up stupid songs. His English was about like Jose's at that point in his career.
