I certainly am not expecting any tanking, but I was just wondering if he needs to have at least an average outing.

Angels placed RHP Andrew Bailey on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to August 16, with right shoulder inflammation.

Bailey hasn't pitched in nearly a week, but it's clear he was never over the shoulder ailment that's kept him out most of the season. He's a poor bet to contribute any more this year.

"Meyer has resumed throwing, Scioscia said. Meyer has been out for about a month with inflammation in his shoulder. He had started throwing a few weeks ago, but had to take a break because his symptoms returned. Until Meyer begins to progress toward long toss, it’s difficult to project when, or if, he’ll pitch again this season. …"
