Sad. Dude was responsible for two of the funniest skits in the history of TV. Bringing that kind of joy to so many people is a great legacy to leave behind really.

Saw this earlier today and it's not like he's a guy you hear a lot about but I had no idea he was battling cancer.  57 is too young and next to Chapelle he was the funniest guy on that show while he was a part of the best skits.  RIP.

Gotta confess that I've never heard of him. Found out he's also the older brother of Eddie Murphy.

he kind of was just eddie murphy's brother, but then carved out his own niche over the years.....ironically eddie kind of fell off the map with a ton of shitty movies whereas charlie shined during those years.

not a household name for most, but if you're into comedy he was a good standup and was in some famous comedy skits. also always a good radio/podcast interview.
