it MIGHT happen again, but the one thing that will never be duplicated was when he was brought in as a reliever in the 7th inning of game 5 . . . to replace the starting pitcher, who just happened to be . . . himself.

That was the year Arte Disney added the clause into his contract that he would no longer be able to miss time to play in the Masters and US Open, even though all of the majors he won, he played as an amateur, for the love of the game, and refused all prize monies..  

I thought Arte Disney was being pretty selfish, but looking back the Angels would still be without a WS ring...since they were O-fer however many games he would miss every year. The USGA and PGA were none to happy about having one of their biggest draws taken away.
