How do the Angels get younger, deeper and better?

Bourjos & maybe Aybar, Kendrick or Trumbo could be moved for young talent.

We could sign some Mexicans from the DR.

What would you do to give this team a chance to be competitive as early as next season?

Simply priceless.

You can't trade Aybar and Howie since there is noone in the farm that can replace them.

And there isn't anyone coming to the free agent market that is better than them.

Bourjos and Trumbo can be replaced since the Angels have Trout and corner outfielders that can hit are the most abundant.

Trade away Vargas, Hanson, Blanton and Richards for younger talent.

Tank the rest of the year and a good draft can restock some talent in the farm system.

This isn't going to be a one year rebuilding project and it's going to take a few years.

Trumbo and Bourjos ARE young talent.  Why move them for question marks?

They could lose a bunch of games to get better draft picks.

They already went that route then lost them as compensation picks to the Cards and Texas. Giving first round draft picks to the Angels is like giving money to an addict, they just run out and overspend for a quick fix.

The Angels need to spend money on a cruise ship for Cuban "refugees" with a quick side trip to the Dominican to get their citizenship and passports in order before final dissembarking in Newport Beach.

This is also a deal for the future, Katie. I don't think the Padres organization feels they are contenders this year and they have nice pitching prospect depth.

So the Padres don't have a chance this year so they trade away future MLB players? What? And they have a lot of young outfielders

When you have a surplus, yes. Bourjos is not making any significant money for the foreseeable future. Liriano is losing a full year of development due to TJ surgery. Who are all of these young OF you speak of?
