pretty awesome for coastal carolina. this was also their first trip to the CWS.

Their coach has been there for 21 years. He oversaw the program when it wasn't one, when the entire operation was run out of a small trailer. This year's group of seniors dedicated themselves to getting him to Omaha this season. They had fallen short in two previous Super Regionals, and they were one strike away from being sent home from a third this season. They came back from the brink so many times that it had to be destiny. It doesn't get much tighter than the deciding game, one run lead, bottom of the ninth, two out, 3-2 count and the tying and winning runs in scoring position.

LB clinches the Big West title, before playing Fullerton.    RPI is 17 and ranked in the Top 10 in the 3 polls = close to getting that #1 seed regional hosting bid?

Watching them right now.

0-0, with CSJM up in the bottom of the 7th and bases loaded

We were beat 3-2 by Texas in a great pitcher's duel. Scored a run in the top of the 9th to pull to within a run and had runners on 1sr & 2nd with 1 out but couldn't score ( sound familiar).

LB looked good. Definitely the team to beat in that regional. If they win they match up with the winner of the Stanford regional. It surprised me to hear that LB hadn't hosted a regional in 9 years.

i knew Oregon State had a good season, but 49-4??? (now 50-4) Holy crap. Their pitching has been phenomenal.

Re: the Beavs

SP Jake Thompson went 12-0  with a 1.31 ERA in 103 ip. (96 Ks 31 BB)

An obvious lock for conference pitcher-of-the-year.  Not so fast. That award went to his teammate:

SP Luke Heimlich who was 10-1 with a 0.81 ERA in 111.1 ip (120 Ks 21 BB)

If that weren't enough, 2015 ace Drew Rasmussen returned at the end of April from TJ surgery. He pitched in 5 games, starting 3. He had an ERA of 0.51 in 17.1 ip

All 3 had BAA of .190 and under

And of course Heimlich elicits the classic gloss on the opponents.

So close to a LB/UCLA clash today.   Time for LB to beat Texas and be in a great position.

I had an inkling that Fullerton would beat both BYU and Stanford.   Their pitching is really solid too, with Eastman's return.

SDSU scored in the top of the 13th to win. They had 3 hits after the 2nd inning.

Watching CSJM vs Stanford right now. Titans up 3-1 after 2 innings.

Stanford needs a win to force a championship game tomorrow.

Best sight of the tourney is watching 6'11" Kentucky starting pitcher.

A Maryland pitcher yesterday had a mullet for the ages, and the Terps were wearing camo hats.  It looked like something from the Hillbilly Hall of fame.

He get lit up and didn't even complete an inning.

LB tried for inside the parker and thrown out at home to end the 10th! UT 3 up 3 down in the 11th. Let's go Beach!

This has been a crazy weekend for Beach, and a four day advertisement for the team and city.

My friend was there last night, said they were jeering the hell out of Roger.
