Predictions - Biggest surprises this year (Good and bad)

Recommended Posts

Good:

Pujols find his old form and hits .300 with 45 bombs and a .400+ OBP

Trout has his best season and has a 50-40 year while winning the gold glove in center field

Richards and Weaver return to prior form and fight it out as the staff aces

The bullpen is the best and baseball and colby rasmus becomes the closer halfway through the year and records 25 straight saves

Choi and Cron both have OPS over .800

Gio turns a 180 and becomes the best fielding second basemen in baseball while hitting a solid .280 with 10 home runs

Simmons goes back to his rookie form and provides 15 homers and a .260 average while winning another gold glove

Escobar has his best season and and has .417 OBP and scores 134 runs

Calhoun posts his first 4+ season

BAD

I start taking so many drugs that I lose grip on reality and fantasy.

Good:

1. AO self bans himself 4 days after opening day and pops up again at the Trade Deadline only to get frustrated and self bans himself yet again for the entire remaining 2016 and 2017 seasons only to return on December 23rd after the Halos sign Josh Reddick.

2. Most of the good guys have good years.

Meh:

1. CJ Wilson comes back in July and runs off 6 straight quality starts. He still ends up with a losing record and an ERA over 4.8 strikes out 100 and walks 100 in 85 innings

2. Gio hits .280 with 60 rbi's and wins Team MVP! Only to have a chopper hit him in the sack and we lose in Walk Off fashion on the last day of the 2016 Season. The Astros win the AL West by 1 game.

3. Simmons hits .320!!! But, forgets how to play defense ends the season as our DH.

4. Most of the meh guys have meh years.

Bad:

1. Weaver throws a 82mph fastball and his arm rolls out of its socket like a slinky.

2. Sven eats a bad meatball and is out with food poisoning for 6 weeks starting in July. Bud Black leads the Halos back to within 2 games of 1st only to collapse when the Chief returns. Who later sends Bud back to the FO for showing him up.

3. Most of the bad guys have bad years.

  • 6 months later...

I didn't think CJ would be bad, he usually bounced back from bone chip removal and pitched well enough. This time however his shoulder finally gave out so it's not that he was bad, he was disabled the entire season.

Weaver unfortunately continued his slide, the hopes of some that he would rededicate himself to a fitness routine in the off season were ignoring his history of taking the entire winter off and coming into Spring training out of shape.

but how hard was it to say CJ and Weaver would be bad?

you could have said everyone except Trout would be bad and have a good shot at being correct

That was the dumb joke i was making. That pretty much everything went wrong this year, so if you said anyone but trout would be "bad" you won the contest.
