Los Angeles Rams thread

Solid game yesterday, with the exception of the first 5 minutes in the 2nd half.

Michel kicked arse, 5 yards a carry.  Both he and Henderson are in the NFL’s top 25 in rushing yards.

Stafford for five minutes reverted to the 3 game losing streak guy.  To his credit, he put those INTs behind him.

Powell’s punt return TD was huge, ended the Vikings’ momentum.  Only the second punt TD in the NFL this season so far.

Now, wrap up the division next Sunday against the slumping Ravens!

The Rams actually won a game in Minnesota?   Alert Ripley’s!   So many losses there over the years

FOX didn't help matters by showing highlights of those playoff loses.

Worst one was 1974, calling Tom Mack for illegal procedure when the Rams were about to score.   He didn’t move.

1976 saw Tom Dempsey’s early short FG attempt blocked and returned for a TD in Minnesota.

1977 saw the El Niño affected game at the Coliseum, with them shut out for 58+ minutes.

Ironic that Sunday was the 45th and 44th anniversaries of those two Rams playoff losses to the Vikings, some revenge gained.

Revenge isn't 4+ decades later. Most of those players are dead and buried.

yeah, it's like when two teams meet a year or two after having been in the championship game, and some dimwitted announcer will talk about it being revenge for team x losing in the championship to team y. no, it's not anything like that at all.

16/11 TDs/INTs the past 8 games, including probably half a dozen deep in his own territory

What changed from the first 8 games (22/4 TDs/INTs)?

Robert Woods’ absence couldn’t have been THAT important in that time.

The past 8 games won’t get it done long term.

My scathings are only directed at INT Stafford.

He did well late in the past two games.  Why can’t he do it on the other parts of the game.

Same ol same ol the past 8 weeks
Defense and Michel have been the keys in the 5 game win streak.

Teams get better at making adjustments as the season progresses.

Yes, Woods is that important to the offense. Right now, everyone knows who the ball is going to. With Woods playing, that wasn't the case. He put a lot of stress on opposing defenses.

Jefferson and OBJ (having had a month or so to learn the offense) are fully capable now of being solid options.

Without OBJ’s two clutch catches, there’s no winning TD.

Jefferson has close to 50 catches despite being the 3rd receiver the first half of the season.

Kupp is great, but doesn’t have to be leaned on so heavily now that Michel is gaining yards on the ground and Jefferson, OBJ, and Higbee can also get it done in the passing offense.

Even Skowronek is starting to contribute recently.

Anyway, going from 22/4 TDs/INTs to 16/11 TDs/INTs is more than just teams making adjustments.   That’s too drastic of a change to be chalked up to just adjustments made.

Stafford can avoid those mistakes in the 4th quarter.   Why not the other 3 quarters (especially the first half)?   Got to stop giving away free points with deep in own territory INTs.
