Would be an interesting platoon option with Cron.

But he'd probably pull a Joyce on us.

I would wager Eric Chavez would play on the field longer if activated.

Concussions suck. I had one at 14, was fine a day or two later, same with brother that had one at 12. After a day or two of dizziness and vomiting he was fine. I can't imagine what that sort of thing would do to the adult brain.

Poor guy. When he's healthy, he's a premier offensive weapon. But you just don't know when it comes or how long it will last.

Anyway, I'm in favor of offensive help in many forms.

I like the left handed bat and he was fun to watch in his Minnesota prime days, but if I'm going for a first baseman/DH route, gimme Gyun-Ho Park. I imagine the plan would be to flip Cron for some depth, but I want someone a little longer term than Morneau. Park could be a contributor for years. He's my guy.

I think the Angels will want to hold onto Cron at least one more year. The way he hit in the second half, if he does that all year he'll be dangerous, and then they can trade him or lock him in. I can't imagine teams would pay full price for him right now because of his first half performance. Teams don't make it a practice to trade their young talent away when their value is low. There's just no benefit in it.

Believe the Angels have enough depth at 1B/DH, Pujols, Cron & Navarro. Eppler should concentrate on LF, 3B, 2B and BP. A starting pitcher like Wei-Yin Chen, 30, lefty, and has had a good ERA for the past 2 years (Avg 3.44 ERA)  wouldn't be a bad signing either...

This is the worst suggestion I've ever seen on this website–and that's saying a lot.

You obviously forgot the guy that wanted to trade Trout to solidify the bullpen.

If we needed a platoon bat vs RHP we could do a lot worse in his defense. Of course as others have mentioned there would be risk involved from his previous concussion injuries.
