How much worse can Hamilton get?

Glen

Hamilton is fine!!!

I blame the pitchers who keep throwing him change ups outside the strike zone.  They know he is going to swing and miss them, yet they still throw the pitch over and over again.

Bat Hamilton behind Trout. next time the pitchers do that they'll be conceding a base to Trout.

He can't be this bad. I believe he'll make the adjustments needed and will become a force in due course.

He has had the entire 2nd half last year and the start of the season to do so and he still has not. The fact that he wants to show texas that they made a mistake by not offering a competitive offer likely works against him in this series...

Which explains why you were all so bitter when he supposedly snubbed the Rangers during free agency.

Very few people actually wanted him back, but some were angry because he had indicated he would bring the offer to the Rangers and allow them to match it. The reason most of them were mad is because it was another lie, not because it meant he wasn't coming back. We saw him use an approach to the plate for 3 months last year exactly the same as what he's done in his Angels career so far. ...and many of us believe that he is not smart enough to ever figure out how to make an adjustment to being pitched 6 inches low and off the plate. That and he's a complete human piece of dog trash. :)

Try again.  This time without the bitterness.

I've tried bringing those numbers to the discussion before, and they continue to ignore them. Also the fact that he lead the team in RBI's and was 2nd in homeruns after the ASB.

Apparently that is up for debate, because your own GM confirmed after he signed with us that he had never received such a promise from Hamilton.  Get with the facts.

No, I agree. JD even said that there was never such a statement made, there were just rumors that some verbal agreement had been made to that end...but it doesn't matter. *I* didn't care about that. I wanted him gone. Most of those who really pay attention to baseball wanted him gone. Kinda like most of you guys would like him gone too.

He had a .645 OPS the last week of the season and dropped a critical flyball and laughed about it in the dugout and then looked like he did not even try in the WC game. We Rangers fans wish Josh was still here at 5 years 125 Million and hitting great like he is, but we will get over it...

Jon Daniels likely only said this so that backlash would be deflected back to Hamilton. i mean this really is pretty obvious that if texas wanted to resign Hamilton they would have. Looks like most simple Texas fans that wanted Hamilton back took the excuse...

Kinsler had a .470 OPS the last week of the season.

The entire lineup other than Michael Young struggled the last few weeks. But Hamilton became the lightning rod with his drop and his horrible ABs late in the season..Also I think the issues with sports drinks, coffee, eye-drops and whatever else seemed to annoy some fans. Regardless both parties have gone their ways and its not a big deal. Players change teams all the time.

Until he stops swinging at bad pitches, this will continue. He needs to stop flailing at change ups off the plate and the curve balls/sliders in the dirt and pitchers will start attacking the zone more. He's been super aggressive most of his career but never this bad.

I don't get it either. He's never been a patient guy but he wasn't a complete hacker like he just suddenly morphed into. With his K rate climbing the 2nd half of last year + early part of this season and a contact % in the 60% range, there's not much hope of seeing him hit .290 + for this team in the present or future. He may just be a .260 hitter at this point with how much swing and miss he has. He's currently striking out in nearly 30% of his AB's....that's Brandon Wood territory. That's not good territory

how the hell is he making better contact this year? did you not see him the first two months of last season?

He's hitting a lot of hard hit ball but unfortunately they're right at the f'n marine layer. While the marine layer was our team MVP last year, this year he seems to be drunk when the other team is batting :(
