If we make it to the playoffs - Weaver out of the Rotation?

I'll use the vet card for Weaver in a three game series. The guy seems to man up under pressure. I don't think there's a manager in baseball that would keep him out if it came down to a three man rotation.

When we make the playoffs.

I would like to see the rotation be:

Richards

Weaver

Heaney

Hoping that throwing Weaver in the middle will throw the hitters timing off a bit.

I'd keep Weave in the rotation for the ALDS, if making it, and make sure to line him up for a home start in game 3.

Both Shoe and Rasmus may well be close to TJ surgery, with two different forearm issues each this season.

COL would certainly be a lot better for travel. The commissioner originally wanted the DBacks to move, and I would have like that (I lived in Arizona in 2013), but the owner of the DBacks strongly prefers National League rules and wasn't broke and able to be bullied like the owners of the Astros.

In hind sight they should have signed Lackey to a contract extension over Weaver.

Also 2 WS rings vs 0.

 

Lackey is having one of the best seasons in his career at age 36.....as good as his 2007 season.

Turns 37 in Oct.

I see it playing out like this. He takes the offseason to try and see if he can reinvent his mechanics and add a few mph if he can't then he may retire at the end of spring training next season.
