7th inning reliever

We have options, but are any of them good enough for October baseball.

Salas, Gott, Ramos, or Rasmus?

Each has their pros and cons.

We have depth in the pen. But are we deep enough in the late innings for October baseball?

Great point Nando, after improvement was seen in their pitch counts, both are starting to regress in that area.

Maybe just building up his stamina so he can be a multi-inning option again once rosters expand. 

I imagine they want to keep Gott up here so he can acclimate to big leagues, and neither Salar nor Alvarez have done so poorly to justify sending them down or risk losing them to waivers...I say that not knowing if either can be optioned or not.

 

In a month we'll be able to rely on all of them.

Alvarez may have options but Salas doesn't. I think we have enough to mix and match. Have we completely given up on Morin this year?

Everyone's saying the Angels are in the market for a reliever, might see one acquired after a left fielder though. My dream is that they can get Ethier in that CJ deal to platoon with Victorino so they don't give up prospects to get another reliever (Joaquin Benoit-esque) or maybe even another bat.

What is their plan for him anyway?

Dipoto talked about Rasmus being a potential starter in the offseason and I don't see why that still couldn't be a possibility. He is certainly excelling down in the Minors, albeit some of his innings are relief.

He's sort of a hidden option as a mid to back end starter if the Angels feel he could capably handle the workload (which I personally feel he can do).
