Definitely needed to send him down. Very unfortunate that he was so terrible this year, despite a great spring and a solid rookie campaign where he hit 11 homers and had an OPS+ of 110.

I kind of doubt it, Joyce has started to hit a bit, so unless he is coming up to be our starting 2nd baseman or to give Aybar and Freese a breather, I think he will start only against lefties, so 20% of the time roughly.

Why not DH him though? It's not like Krauss has shown much in his 350 or so at bats in the majors.

Still see CJ as an all or nothing type.  He's either going to get it at the plate or he's not.  

 

He did everything right this spring and then he did everything wrong to start the season

 

He will not have a career in the bigs unless he can find some sort of plate discipline.  Somehow, someway.  Because .240 with a .270 obp isn't going to cut it in the bigs for a guy who has no defensive position regardless of how much power he has.

They will probably DH him against lefties with Cowgill getting the start in left.

It makes sense that he'd get most of his time vs. lefties but we only face one over the next 12 games.  We'll see, but I think he's gonna take some time from Gia as well.

Any guy we get from another team's scrap pile - see Kraus - immediately gets at least a week of starts. Green might get three in the next seven days.

We have by far, the worst DH depth chart in baseball. It's a position for a hitter for which we have none. Maybe we should see if our pitchers can bat??
