Nice try but Walberg was a convicted felon and I acknowledge that he did what required by the courts and do not believe he needs to give up his career because of it, however, I don't accept he should retroactively be pardoned so he can buy a gun.

Some are acting as if this was a one time mistake. We're talking about a hand full of victims at an age where the perpetrators clearly knew right from wrong. I don't understand where this need comes from to rush in and defend him. It shouldn't matter if you share some of the same views with a child molester.

Maybe you are not getting why some people are not getting a rope, pitchforks and some torches. It happened 12 years ago and was resolved with all of the parties then. It was a minor involved with other minors. No other incidents have been reported since. What more do you want to transpire?

I don't have grandkids so I guess that isn't up for discussion. I also have no compassion for child molesters. The issue I have is 12 years later the courts of public opinion want to retry this guy as an adult for transgressions that took place when he was a minor with no proof that any further incidents took place after the fact.

Doesn't really seem like he was punished in the 1st place.  Family coveres it up for years.  Moloster gets counsiling from someone who has child porn.  If one of my friends or relatives was a victim, that would not be nearly enough punishment for me.  

TLC has no choice but to cancel the show.  No advertiser is going to stay with a molster and a family who covers up that molestation.

As far as Don's ridiculous post.......  Christians don't all parent their kids the same way.  We aren't some non-thinking block that all do the same exact things.  So to make some blanket statement about how Christian parents don't teach their children the correct things about sex is one of the dumbest things ever stated.  

 

If he does it today, throw him in prison and toss the key away.  The fact is it doesn't seem he has done anything at all since then.

If there is any evidence that Duggar did this again at anytime later I'll be the first to say put him away forever.  What I am pissed about is how it was covered up at the time because his father was a politician.  That is abuse of power and I don't see how that might not be prosecutable because of the conspiracy to do so.

The claim that all the backlash is because the guy is conservative is absolute nonsense. I've never heard of this guy. I've never heard of this family. I've never heard of their TV show. I believe I've heard of the FRC but I'm not sure. I certainly don't know what it stands for or what they represent.

This dude molested children at an age where he knew it was wrong. I find that appalling and unacceptable. Should he lose his job, house, kids? I don't know. Should he be shamed in public? Meh. But if he didn't want people to talk about how he molested little girls 12 years ago then he should have thought about that before he molested little girls 12 years ago.

The cover-up of these events is even more problematic. If it turns out to be true that the family did cover it up then I understand people's crusade to get them of the air. I personally don't care. I don't watch the show. I found out it's on TLC. I haven't watched that network in 15 years. So they can keep them on the air for all I care. And all the child molester supporters can tune in every night to watch these monsters.

I guess liberals hate child molestation.

Not sure how many families are forthright in telling everyone on the internet that their kid did something awful. In fact court records for minors are sealed just for that reason, to protect the families and the kid from what is happening right now from the righteous indignant that are not affected at all.
