This video makes me think it had to be Trout. At around 0:25 he tries to throw the rosin bag at Weaver, but misses. It must have made him want to try even harder to hit him with something, and a water bottle was probably the first thing he could find.  

 

The fact that they were so secretive afterward is an indicator too - they don't want to make Trout look bad.

I didn't notice the rosin bag toss until you pointed it out. It most likely was Trout that shot J.R. threw the water bottle.

When we get a walk-off win, what is the reasoning behind the team for always tearing apart the jersey of the player who hit the walk off? I don't understand that.
