I was out running errands and was listening to the game on the radio. When the close play at second was discussed, the radio guys made the point that the MLB crew in New York had already seen the play and knew what the call should be. Why not just tell the umpiring crew instead of stopping the game and having them look at it too?

The umpires should have nothing to do with replay since they cannot be considered impartial arbitrators. This needs to be a non union protected position.

I wonder how many people review these plays? It would seem smarter to have 3 individual people look at the same play and provide their input with a majority wins process.

Yes MIke, that is where the changes should be made.  I can't imagine any where else you might consider making some adjustments.  The team looks good at this point in the season.
