Problem with Mike Smith is he is a really good dude.  Not really sure Atlanta's failing are all his fault.  Matt Ryan was very good his first couple years but quickly fell apart.

Vic Fangio is being mentioned as the guy the 49ers are going to take a long look at.  Makes sense, dude has been nothing but successful.  Adam Gase being mentioned, I swear OCs should pay Peyton to be his OC with how many get HC jobs after coaching him.

 

I would think Rex Ryan will land a job somewhere, maybe The Bears.

Garbage that averaged over 12 wins a year with the 49ers and won more games in four years than they did in the previous six.  He is a very good coach, 49ers brass are idiots to let him go.

Bears seem like a team he would thrive with.  It all hinges on him being given full control.  Harbaugh is definitely the anti Trestman.  Would love to hear how he deals with Cutler though, lol.

I think he is too good of a coach for them honestly.  Plus I bet he wants control too.  I think the Bears will make a run at him if they can't get Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is a douche but he did a damn good job with that team. It's ridicukous he is quitting/being fired or whatever.

Smith has to be the worst clock managing coach Ive ever seen. Getting blown out in a home game for the division is embarrassing

i HATE how every time a jets game was on the tube, about half the time the camera showed ryan on the sidelines. the same is true for his dbag brother, wherever he's coaching. i wish the networks understood that i don't want to watch the coach on the sidelines during every dead ball.

The Deadspin article was the solid read. It was titled "The Raiders don't ****ing get it" and went on about if you're going to fail, fail big. Not with guys like Pat Shurmur.

Go after an up and comer or even risk a hot college coach, but going after failed coaches is godawful

Belichick and Pete Carroll had terrible records in their first stint as managers.
