Yeah, billionaires are always so timid.

Hes buddies with Scioscia and he's afraid to fire him, why else would he keep him around for so long? You can't have a loaded roster and that payroll and miss the playoffs 4 straight years. He should have been gone years ago.

Would love to see him in an Angels uniform but Moreno doesn't have the balls to fire Mike, too bad. He will end up with the Cubs.

Great post.

I think it's a combination of the length and size of the contract and fright from the backlash he would receive for letting go of a manager who guided a great team to the best record in baseball.

Well, he can always use Scioscia's postseason failures as a reason I suppose or the 4 years prior of not making the postseason despite those luxurious signings and huge expectations.

I would love to see Maddon manage this team. Do it, Arte!

And then did what in the playoffs? Oh yea, got swept by a wildcard team...No one cares about or remembers the regular season

Exactly right. You play to win the title, not get swept in the first round to an inferior club.

Scioscia's tragic decision making certainly played a role why the Angels got swept.

Really hoping for Maddon... Make it happen, Arte!

Lol. Even if Moreno was interested in firing/replacing Sosh, Maddon wouldn't be interested in managing the Angels. He's buddies with Sosh and he would never stab Sosh in the back by taking the job.

Yeah, billionaires are always so timid.

If anything I suspect a lot of Scioscia's most frustrating moves were actually done at Moreno's insistence, which means changing mangers won't fix the problem.

an inflated payroll doesn't win games. Players that can perform win games. The mismanaged roster acquisitions is on Moreno, not Scioscia.
