Hoffman is crushing it even though he looks like a cross between Gary Busey and the singer for The Offspring.

58 year-old Mark O'Meara had a -4 68 today, and is tied for 5th at -3.

Hoffman is making a spirited run at Spieth, but just missed a short birdie putt on 16. That hurts.

Rory blowing up (I think it was three bogeys and a double on the front) and going to miss the cut.

 

He doesn't even look like he cares to make a comeback.

DJ just set a record for three eagles in a round. Had him play today and thought I was in for a long one with the double on 1, but he's crushed it.

Getting to watch Crenshaw's exit is pretty sweet.

Low rounds of the day look to be Spieth, DJ (barring not going up and down on 18), and the pride of Western Hills, Na.

Spieth hasn't exactly finished off a bunch of golf tournaments. It will be interesting if he goes out in 38 today and how he reacts to that.

Michelson with three straight birdies is tied for second with Hoffman.

They can't catch Spieth today but they're playing some good golf in the attempt. Phil looks like his old self. He still has a chance.

 

 

edit: Wow, Spieth lipped out a short par putt on 15. Opening the door a bit here...

What a leaderboard. Four of the five players next in line after Spieth have won a combined 24 majors.

 

Jordan will have to shoot a 74 or 75 for Tiger or Rory to have a decent chance. But Michelson and Rose are definitely there, as if Hoffman.
