Aces are not going for two years or 14m a year.

Some team will go 5/100.

I haven't seen the FA list in a while, but think he is the best available pitcher.

I'll watch tdawg jack off on his Trout poster if he goes for that low. He's not a fringe pitcher like Santana.

I wish I had a Trout poster.

But yeah, my guess is Shields gets 5/90 at least. Just the way the market goes.

At that price, the Angels go over the luxury tax anyway so they might as well just go after Lester or Scherzer.

Dear Jerry Dipoto...

Claim the house and make MS pitch Santago in game 2 over Wilson.

Thanks,

Everyone who paid attention this season.

This is what should happen. Santiago is to the A's what Bud Norris is to the Angels. CJ and his horrendous command is the worst matchup vs these A's hitters. He's got a 5.68 ERA, 1.89 WHIP, and a 10/5 BB/K ratio in 3 starts vs the A's this year.

CJ needs to take a backseat in this series because of who the opponent is.

Wilson is getting owned if he continues throwing as many balls as strikes.

Disgusting that a pitcher who has been garbage for months is slated to pitch in the playoffs.

Santiago isn't even a good option either but still better than CJ

Have you actually seen Santiago pitch against Oakland?

I can't even remember the last time Wilson pitched a "gem"

it was 3 starts ago when he shut down the Mariners in the game they clinched the division

But still, he should't be in the rotation vs the A's. Just a bad matchup for him and for the team. Sosh needs to realize this and make the tough decision of keeping him out of the rotation despite his contract

It's funny though because Santiago is basically the exact same type of pitcher.

Yes. And I'm not sure that means all too much given the sample size. I don't trust Santiago because he can be just as wild as CJ. But I would still rather give him the ball in game 2 for obvious reasons

Yeah, he seems to be a bit of a mental case at times too.  But for whatever reasons, he's always had success Vs them -- even before coming to Anaheim.
