I fear it's just a matter of time before they start scoring again and their pitching staff is scary. So ideally it'd be nice to see them keep losing.

I think it's still a pick your poison type thing with Seattle and Oakland. Seattle pitching scary as well.

Agreed. As much fun as it is to laugh at Oakland now, we could still very easily play them in the postseason, and they could be playing much better by then.

Oakland is not as bad as they are playing...but they certainly aren't as good as they played the first few months of the year. When you look at the teams lining up for the wildcard you would certainly want to play the A's over the Tigers in a short series...and they might be preferable to playing the Mariners or the Royals as well.

It's really a mix of shitty luck and a putrid offense for them lately.  I mean you can complain about losing a string of 1-run games to a certain extent, but when you're constantly scoring two runs or less per game it doesn't really matter.

In order of least preference:

M's  (Sick pitching staff and improving offense, but having a very difficult 17 games to close the season)

A'ths (Only Samardzjia and Lester having pitched an entire MLB season in the past 4 years, slumbering offense) 

Royals (Gritty team with a lights out pen and solid starters, but little offense)

Tigers (Rookie mgr, underachieving in 2014)

Oakland's schedule is pretty easy after the Mariners series.  They face Texas 7 times.  But even still they are just a game up in the wild card and have to worry about both the Tigers and Royals now.  I think it will be Seattle and KC playing for the Wild Card game, which would be perfect for us.

Actually, I don't love watching them do anything. the A's are the most boring team in baseball, and it's probably because everyone looks like a hipster and hits .220.
