Burnett isn't likely ever. But even if he does pitch again, after a year (or two?) off, he is going to need a month in SLC.

If he can pitch again, mid season might even be rushing him back.

Frieri is fine as a closer...on a 3rd or 4th  place team.

If  you actually want to contend, and go into the post season, he isn't the man.

I don't know his save percent versus first place teams save percent but I'm guessing it's relatively close. My issue with him as a closer is I don't trust him enough in tie games.

Smith is nasty. He throws his sinkers for strikes and his slider is a great out pitch.

3 years for a reliever is usually asking for trouble but he should be a really solid guy for most of the deal.

Alvarez gave up 6 walks in 4+ innings 2 days ago, he might needs some mechanic adjustment.

Because he has a MLB contract, he won't be able to be in SLC for that long.  There is a specified amount of time players can be on rehab assignments. I forget how long it is. I just know the time varies for pitchers and position players.
