Now Scioscia...you bring in Shoemaker here. If you bring in Salas here you might be dumber than I thought (which is hard to do)

Honestly, why not see if Richards can go 6? Maybe he gets lucky and gets a couple of quick outs.

Was good to see him fight through and limit the damage there. Did his best to avoid that one bad inning...but obviously he's gotta find ways to limit the walks. Still happy with this outing....the stuff is great

 

 

Looks like we're gonna be seeing Salas/Jepsen or Kohn in the 6th and 7th innings before it gets to Joe Smith/Frieri....so now would be a good time for the bats to put a few more...or 8 more runs across the board

This was Scioscia's logic with Weaver and sort of with CJ... The bullpen is bad, but it's a lot worse when they have to come in with 2 guys already on base...

 

Richards is at 95 pitches and he's losing command (that means he's tired), lets quit while we're ahead.

At this point I feel like Salas and Jepson should have pitched their way into "blowouts only" situations...

Hopefully DDLR will be back at some point next week it'll be nice to have another somewhat reliable arm in the pen.

We're facing a less stronger lineup (that's not saying much, but it's weaker nonetheless), and Richards has looked much better than either of those guys did in their first 5 innings.
