I don't want great comedians put into a box like that. For late night you need guys who are amusing with likable personalities.

This is where Fallon is absolutely perfect. I am blown away by how much I like the Tonight Show with him, considering I didn't think he was very good on SNL. I don't know if I would have called the tonight show in the past, even with Johnny Carson (one of my idols) a comedy show. It was more of a interview show, with a monologue and of course Johnny is witty, but he was a good interviewer that could improv very well if the show needed it. Fallon has constantly called his show a comedy show and it is working.

I agree Tina Fey would be very good.  Seriously doubt it would happen.

What about Anderson Cooper?  He is a good interviewer, not crazy narcissistic and he has a good sense of humor.

Jamie Foxx would be really good too.

I don't think AC would excel. I don't think he's quite funny enough. If the format of the Late Show changed it might work. Tina Fey would be fantastic!

NPH would be great. He has so many connections with magicians (he is the president of te Magic Castle) Variety Artists, Broadway etc. he could turn it into more of an old school Variety Show.

He has what I would assume to be a great relationship with CBS and is well liked in Hollywood.

The question would be, would he keep the show in NYC or move it to LA. His family is in LA, I believe.
