Report: Lane Kiffin offered, turned down UCLA OC job

http://collegefootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/01/14/report-lane-kiffin-offered-turned-down-ucla-oc-job/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

UCLA lost its offensive coordinator to an SEC West program, then attempted to fill the vacancy with another coordinator from a program in the same conference and the same division.  Reportedly.

According to Brett McMurphy, UCLA offered their coordinator job to Alabama’s Lane Kiffin prior to the College Football Playoff championship game this past Monday.  Kiffin, though, turned down the opportunity in the days leading up to the title game against Clemson.

After (reportedly) being turned down by Kiffin, head coach Jim Mora promoted running backs coach Kennedy Polamalu earlier this week to replace Noel Mazzone, who left to take over the offense at Texas A&M.

Losing Duarte is definitely big.  He and Rosen seemed to have a really good connection.

Bruins are looking to go with more of a true TE instead of the Y receiver route.

Also, FWIW BRO saying that Kiffin was never even close to being offered the position.  They had him as a candidate but KP was not willing to work with him so they quickly moved on.

Two weeks until signing day and recruiting really starting to pick up.  Bruins got a commitment from a local 4* QB Devon Modster and also flipped a 4* DL from Arizona.

Kids twitter page was hilarious last night...talked about committing to UCLA when he has a pic of Arizona's football field and description as committed to Arizona #beardown.  I believe nothing until the papers are signed these days...and even then you could get Chris Clark'd.

  • 2 weeks later...

I am just going to keep spamming this thread even though I might be the only one reading it.  Bruins are set to bring in 6 WR this year!  Much needed.

Three really big prospects still left on the board - 4* TE Devin Asiasi, 4* DT Boss Tagaloa, and 5* LB Mique Juarez.  For a while it sounded like UCLA was in a good position for all but now a lot of questions surrounding Asiasi and Juarez.
