USC is a top position. More prestigious than A&M. Having said that, I agree with rally mo that A&M has the resources to go toe to toe with USC and from a football game environment, it is not even close.

Not too many programs can compare with football environment down there or the rest of the sec for that matter.

Its the state of Texas. A&M can go 3-10 and still sell out and still raise hundreds of millions for new facilities. Mike Sherman was there and he was not nearly successful. The reason they are a successful team now is bc of 1) Sumlin and 2) Manziel. A&M to USC is not a lateral move. Sorry.

Honestly before last yr not many ppl cared about A&M. Fast forward to Sumlin. SEC & Manziel now they're a name brand nationally. USC will always be and has been a name brand nationally.

 

That's fantastic and everything, but you don't get to go back three years to make this hire. You have to do it in 2013. A&M is taking advantage of what's happening and has raised something around $1 billion overall to make sure that they're able to sustain it as best is possible and take advantage of it. They have what it takes to be a powerhouse in terms of finances, location and now coaching. Did you not see the kind of resources that they are pouring into their program? They want to sustain it and they can.

 

Mentioning that they are successful because of Sumlin is kinda silly if he stays there, isn't it? I don't even know why you bothered to include that as a bullet point.

 

Yes, they can go 3-10 and raise hundreds of millions, or they can go 11-2 and raise hundreds of millions more and continue to blow their brand up across an ever expanding state.
