Those two contracts were way over the top but both of their press conferences were packed wall to wall with excited Angels fans.

I know that you're being sarcastic but poor Arte can't win no matter what he does. Its Pujols and Hamilton that should answer why they've failed not Arte.

The Albert Pujols contract is the one I have major issues with. Had similar concerns when we signed him. Tying up that much payroll for that long a period is simply a very poor decision by ownership.

Even if we wanted to trade the player we would have to eat $125 mill + out of the $210 left.

YOT, no doubt that it was a huge commitment to sign Albert Pujols for 10 years and so much $$$$$$.  I do think that if he would have delivered us an instant championship it would have been easier to accept but that didn't happen. We've had two seasons with Albert and we can't even get to the dance.

Well, you can't put on 20 lbs of muscle in an offseason without the sauce, so I'm not sure what the point of getting fatter is.  But if being heavier is a placebo to give him some sort of mental edge then so be it.

 

Maybe Yogi was right, 90% of baseball is 1/2 mental .
