Generally, yes. I think their defense metric is more sophisticated (although still problematic). For pitchers all best are off - I'm not sure I like either and actually veer towards BR, because Fangraphs relies too much on FIP, which is the ultimate "what should of happened according to my calculations, but actually didn't" stat.

 

But he isn't a better player than Cabrera.

 

I know you're messing around, but I agree with the idea that Trout is the best overall player in baseball, while Cabrera is the best hitter (and Kershaw the best pitcher).

A younger Molina I would but no not now. I said it many times here how great a talent Trout is ... I'm just a little more subjective and not a big fan of accumulated stats.

Too early for me to claim Trout as the best player in baseball ... he's easily in the top five .

There should be a five year window on that claim.
