Really? that maybe true but its more like their last 50 games has made everyone in the LA/OC Metro area forget the Angels last decade.

Of that group the following were pre Moreno:

Figgins was a call up in 2012

Lackey  was a rookie

KROD was a rookie

Shields was a Rookie I believe

 

So how was the core pre-Moreno?

 

It would be better to say the core of the success of the past decade was Stoneman and pre Reagins

 

How long had those guys been in the organization?

 

My point with that line was that most of the talent that drove our best years was homegrown before Moreno had the chance to put his mark on the franchise. Moreno's win now mentality paid off in the short run because he was complimenting the talented homegrown core with good free agent signings. As time has gone on that core has evaporated and not been replenished, while those signings have also not panned out.

I'm not sure I want to place " the blame" until I know what I'm placing "the blame" for. The last loss? The season? The roster composition? The poor bullpen performance? The strange noise coming from under my hood? The fact that I gained 20 pounds this year?

I blame Bud Selig. Had he and MLB taken this whole steroid/PED issue more serious, at an earlier date, we would not have the two contracts that we are saddled with now.

A-Rod would have been punished earlier, and there would be no 10 year deals. Chances are one or both of our sandbags would have been caught while on another team.
