Corbin To Pitch in a "Must Win" Tonight

There are important games being played...and Patrick Corbin is going tonight vs Cinnci.

Don't know about anyone else, but I will be watching and wishing we still had this guy.

Talk about consistency, only one game all year allowing more than 4 runs (5) and only one game with fewer than 6 innings (5)

This pitching staff, outside of Weaver, Wilson, and maybe Vargas, doesn't know the first thing about consistency.

Did anyone expect Corbin would become the star and Skaggs the (possible) disappointment? I sure didn't see that coming. I figured Skaggs was the prize of that trade, and Corbin a second tier throw in.

It's amazing how much better Mattingly got once the Dodgers started playing better.

Skaggs is still only 22.

At age 20, he was already in AA. 

His Ks/BBs in the minors has always been good, career wise well over 1 K/inning.

Even though he's allowed 7 HRs in just 38 innings so far at the MLB level, he also has allowed just 4 HRs in AAA over some 90 innings. 

 

I still think he projects to a #2/#3 starter eventually due to the Ks/BBs numbers in the minors.   That will probably be about 2-3 years off.

Mattingly benched Puig today. ESPN is going nuts over it.

He put Puig in late in the game. He hit the first pitch he saw out of the park giving the Dodgers the lead for the rest of the night.
