The umpires in NYC are not doing everything they can to make the correct call. 

They are doing everything they can to uphold the call on the field.

Damn Jo really is coming around. Adell with a great at-bat to break up the no-no and now a great at-bat to get on base as the tying run along with a nice sliding catch. He was also safe stealing 2nd. He's an everyday player and let that confidence and comfortability grow.

I never overlook the betting angle. Not a conspiracy theorist, but you just never know. Who is 'New York' anyway? Some guys we know nothing about. So easy to just make a call on a close play go the way you want. Blatant mistakes raise red flags. Close plays just a shrug and soon forgotten.

Really is a waste when, in the end, you are still at the mercy of whatever the hell the ump called on the field at the time. Still surprised it didn't get overturned since there was a clear sign of when his foot hit the bag and then when the glove touches him.

Why would they be anti-Halos? We haven't been relevant in a decade. 

The umpires on the field sometimes make bad calls and the replay umpires in New York then do everything they possibly can to uphold the bad call. 

It's a shitty system. There is no conspiracy.

Gotta protect the established system and the people in it and with vested interests. At all costs. Politics by any other name.

Look at the Reggie Bush stupidity. I don't even want to go deep into that 'protect the establishment' scenario. And irony of ironies. When the system breaks down because of it's own internal hypocrisies they revise history a couple of decades later. After all the damage and humiliation. It wasn't just an ethical decision, but one to avoid even more derision. 

Baseball protecting the umps has been common forever. But with technologies available now for proof checking  they've crossed the line from judgment fallibility to pure reflex systemic protection.
