We all get excited over a comeback win Wednesday night then they turn around and lose 3 straight. Win 1 lose 2 or 3 it's going to be all year. Just another garbage season.

We know what Adrianza is: he's an 80 OPS+, .238/.308/.352 hitter who'll turn 35 in August.  It's not like he's some youngster with untapped potential--and he's not even that great defensively anymore (not that he was Ozzie Smith or anything even earlier in his career).

True, has to be better than what Neto has been so far in 2024, granted only 21 games in.

Minasian did mess up in not bringing in a solid INF backup, knowing how injury prone Rendon is and how young Neto is.

Adrianza did come out of the game today after one AB.  I don't see anything online that indicates he got hurt.  Could be getting called up if/when Rendon gets IL'ed.  Again, though, you really can't expect anything from him other than not embarrassing you in the field when he plays.  If he does anything at all at the plate, it's a bonus.

That may have been true a few years ago when Trout intimidating pitchers -- Neto was in diapers then -- now it seems that they pitch around other hitters to challenge Trout, particularly when runners are on base

As frustrating as he is, who's better? Despite all the pitchers the Angels have drafted in recent years, it's not like there's someone lurking at AA/AAA who is gonna be any better right now.

So now it will take a small winning streak to get to .500. the further they drift south, the harder it will be to make up ground.

Inner defense is just so unreliable. It's one thing to give extra effort and mess up a tough play. But most of these guys are just purely bad at fundamentals. With simple routine plays.  Positioning, fielding, range, reaction,  handling the ball, throwing. Each ground ball is a real adventure. Obviously Neto and Rengifo are the most obvious, but Drury isn't exactly a gold Glover. And when he played Rendon had little range and threw sidearm all the time.  You have to hold your breath with each chance just hoping for routine completion.

I just know that it will be nice to see them return home, after playing 16 of the first 22 games on the road.

With Rendon out of the lineup they can't thin the infield out any further replacing two positions.
