Rendon gets his first hit today! I say it's a double. As much as we hate him, hes been having good at bats and making solid contact but just hasn't seen any results yet. I am suprised Rengifo isn't playing, this staff and maybe FO must absolutely LOVE Hicks to be giving him this much run so early

He needs to start getting on base. Hopefully he'll get a couple hits to get going tonight. Would love for him to start popping some out of the park too.

Tough to get excited about Hicks at all. Hopefully, he shits the bed and becomes the bench player that he ultimately is. Adell looked fine yesterday. Hicks looked totally lost over the weekend.

Hopefully he plays well in the first half and can be traded for a prospect. Failure does nobody any good so a very strange thing to hope for.

It's at the expense of our young talent. Hicks is washed. Yankees knew it. Don't know why we are trying to save him.

Save him?

Nobody is being held back due to Hicks being on the roster.

Do not approve of this strategy at all when we are replacing these guys with the likes of Rendon, Hicks, and Sano. If this is the strategy, I wish we would have just signed JD Martinez to DH.

They do this every year too. Rengifo could hit 30 HR's in the second half and he'd still lose meaningful playing time to someone like Paul DeJong next year

Crazy to include Rendon with Hicks and Sano. Thats a much different situation than the latter two. Adell hasn't earned a thing at the MLB level yet. If he shows himself to be competent and better than Hicks, he will get the playing time soon enough.

Why? Rendon has been bad when he has actually played the last three seasons, putting up a .701 OPS (94 OPS+). Rengifo can play third base so it is absolutely relevant to include him with the other two. Adell hasn't earned a thing but he is 24 years old and it's time to figure out if he is part of the future rather than sending out Aaron Hicks who is lucky to even be on a ML roster.

I agree 100% but season is young.

Give those ab to Adell. Hicks is not in future plans for Halos but Adell might be.

Adell will get those AB's if he does something with the chances he has been given.

What we should all want is for the Sano's and Hicks' to perform but the youngsters are performing similar or better and those vets can be shipped off for a piece for the farm and future. Same with the pen.

One series doesn't give you enough insight to make any moves.

Rendon is here long term, like it or not. The other two you mentioned with him, probably not. Hicks and Sano can produce and get flipped at the deadline. Rendon produces, probably still not able to flip at the deadline due to contractual status. This is why they are not the same situation at all.
