I don’t know much about him but he’s well respected and seems to be poised to take on a manager role soon.

If Perry sticks around, I think DeRosa makes a lot of sense.

DeRosa played in Toronto and Texas while Perry was working there. And Trout just played for DeRosa in the WBC.

He’s also a popular name when talking about potential managers, which would seemingly appeal to Arte.

Really seems like an authentic dude in the vid who's got a great mind-set & is committed to winning. But given what is going to be a young roster...they probably will hire a staff of more old-school type teachers...

I don't like proposing bad ideas. DeRosa really has no managerial experience. That would fall into the bad idea category for a team that needs leadership without a learning curve.

I didn’t day he’d be good at managing.

I just said he’d make sense (meaning I could see it happening) as a possible hire, given his connections and status.

Personally, I thought his in-game management was brutal in the WBC. So if you hire him, you’d hope he learned from those mistakes.

He worked for MLB. It was cross promotion for the morning show. It is why MLB the corporation sucks.

I think, like Scioscia, he is done. He has had several serious health issues over his managerial career and would probably live longer away from the stress at 64. Impressive credentials though.

I'm fine with Nevin. Players seem to like him and that's important. If you give him a shit roster it doesn't really matter.
