A 2-4 week by the Angels leaves the guys longing for better times.  Back when they were young and the future was bright and full of hope.  But alas, here we are.  So, is this it for the 2023 Angels? Is it time to stick a fork in them?  The guys talk about the prior week’s performance, answer lots of questions from the mailbag and discuss the future of the team and the coaching staff.

@Jeff Fletcher we spoke about the pitching article you did on the podcast and wondered about perhaps another deep dive into a possible shift in their offensive approach at the plate too for a different article.

The Angels lead the AL In home runs but take away that game at Coors Field and they are bottom tier in many offensive categories, run differential, but primarily their ability to come through with RISP.

Yeah, their offensive performance is definitely worth a closer look at some point between now and the end of the season.

With the constant roll over of talent from starter to backup to backup of the backup and then a couple of rentals to cover those holes, there really is no way to define the Angels offense since it was barely on the field an entire month this season.

So many solo shots by Ohtani and so many syonaras from guys going on the IL and being lost over half the season or never returning, leaves not much discussion. Unless you want to take an in depth analysis of Squid's 2 home runs and 64 OPS+.

Marcel Lachemann had some success in 1995. In 96 he was 7 games below .500 and was relieved... (pitching joke).. career Managerial % .498

The reason you see more everyday players and catchers as Managers. Pitchers normally hang together and talk pitching. Catchers see both sides and how to call a game including sequencing to get "outs" and what a hitter is thinking in a specific situation.

Everyday players have usually been decent hitters either for avg or power or consistent players overall that were strong mentally. The cray ran rah guys like Larry Bowa, Ozzie Guillen tend to burn themselves out.
