So I’m supposed to just blindly believe that every move they make is the right one, simply because they have more information than I do?

No but you should be smart enough to know you aren’t smarter than them. It’s either arrogant or ignorant, take your pick.

If Nevin lays out a coherent case post-game behind his decisions, with the additional info he has, I’d admit I was wrong.

It’s not about me wanting to be right.

I just want to understand why he’s doing something that, based on the info I have, doesn’t make sense.

I’m not saying he’s 100% wrong. He could be right, but I can’t say that with the info I have.

And I know I’m not “entitled” to get an explanation. But unless I get that explanation, I have no reason to blindly believe that Nevin is properly using the info he has.

Here’s a pretty good reason, Perry values analytics and Nevin is still employed.

The good news is, Stradling apparently follows you on Twitter.

Renfroe swinging for the fences. That's all he knows how to do. Why do hitters in this lineup hit like it's all up to them or it's over? Stringing base hits together is impossible?

These guys are playing like if they just crank the ball out of the yard a couple times and make the fans clap then they did their job.

Clean up the hitting approach and start producing with RISP or the season is going to be toast.

Everyone talks about the need for SP help. Yeah... rotation could be better but yet again we waste a solid start from Anderson (they don't come TOO often so maybe capitalize?) but our "prolific offense" seems to get nervous when the game is on the line. Total bum approach at the plate from this team with runners on.

Nevin is still employed because Arte was gonna sell the team, until he didn’t.

And by the time he decided not to, it was too late to make a change.

Also, has Perry praised Nevin’s in-game managing or analytic thinking? All I’ve seen is stuff like “he holds players accountable” and “the guys like him.” Another factor, of course, is they were together in Texas.
