The Angels have used one more bullpen arm than the Rangers so far. They just need to get Eovaldi off the mound in 6 innings or less and the Angels can tear through the Rangers bullpen, again.

Despite that, the Rangers bullpen has had a smaller workload than the Angels bullpen.

Why?

- They sent down 2 pitchers that they used Monday. The 2 pitchers they replaced them with pitched yesterday, and will likely both be sent back down today. So they’ll have 2 more fresh arms.

- They didn’t have to use their three best relievers last night (Smith, Sborz, and Anderson)

- Their bullpen wasn’t as heavily used over the weekend in their previous series.

With how well everyone in the pen has been pitching it’s tough to send a pitcher down to get a fresh arm up. Who would even be the odd man out? Webb? Herget?

Herget is the only real candidate who has options.

Soriano and Bachman have options, but no way they send either down.

Actually, in the 9th, they should have since Zach Neto basically ended their game with a 3 run home run. Saving the best pitchers for tomorrow when the game was in reach was a stupid move on their part.

That's fine.  I'll trade BP usage for wins any day

They have to go hard for a third win.

Complacency can set in when you feel you've achieved an acceptable result. But the next two games can create an entirely new mindset going forward. Lose them both and nothing is gained. And doubt creeps back in.

A sweep is unlikely going by the odds, but now is realistically possible. But one at least is important. If they can get by tonight and have Ohtani to close the series it will be the biggest momentum surge of the season.

Disagree.  No sense messing around.  Just get the "W" and get out of there.

Your plan was the original intent, but the pitcher suddenly couldn't throw a strike so he had to go.  They had 2 guys on and if the halos trotted any one else out there besides Estevez and subsequently suffered a 3 run dinger, then Estevez would have had to come in  anyway with zero cushion.

Mission accomplished.  Now, it's onto Kansas City where the team "should" get at least 2 wins, if not 3.

As funny as it sounds, this is the test.

Show that you can keep a streak going. With injuries.

Also show your fangs. Don't let up after a good series and take it easy after jt.
